At the Third Plenary Meeting of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, the Ombudsman of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, reported that the personal information of forcibly displaced and deported children is being altered. This makes it difficult for their relatives and Ukraine to locate and bring them back home. Lubinets also shared that these children are being sent to “re-education camps” where they are exposed to Russian propaganda. It is heartbreaking to think that these children are being forced to deny their Ukrainian identity. So far, Russia has taken more than 20,000 children from Ukraine.
