According to Governor Ivan Fedorov, Russian forces attacked the city of Zaporizhzhia on October 1st, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to at least six others. The attack involved at least six guided aerial bombs, which caused damage to apartment buildings, houses, and other infrastructure facilities in the city.
In recent days, there has been an increase in attacks by Moscow‘s troops on Zaporizhzhia, specifically targeting its civilian infrastructure. On September 23rd, a guided aerial bomb was used for the first time to target the city. Then, on the night of September 29th, a strike by Russia injured 16 people, including an eight-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, according to local authorities.
Zaporizhzhia is located less than 50 kilometers (31 miles) from the front lines, making it a vulnerable target for Russian attacks. Despite this, Russia has continued to strike civilian targets across Zaporizhzhia Oblast, which is partially occupied by Russian forces.
