**15 Minutes of Silence for Novi Sad Tragedy Victims**
A silent protest, called “Stop, Serbia“, was held on January 1, 2025. It was in memory of the 15 people who died when a concrete awning collapsed at Novi Sad Train Station on November 1, 2024.
**Protest in Novi Sad**
Citizens and students blocked the intersection in front of the train station at exactly 11:52 am, the same time as the collapse. Several members of the Novi Sad City Assembly attended the gathering.
**Other Protests**
In Belgrade, students from several universities blocked a boulevard for 15 minutes to show their support for the victims. Agriculture and high school students also staged a traffic blockade in central Zemun for the same amount of time.
**Peaceful Protest**
The demonstration was peaceful, with no incidents reported. Many drivers and bus passengers stopped or slowed down to join or show their solidarity with the protesters. New banners appeared at the protests, featuring messages like “Hungry for Freedom” and “Don’t Lie to My Grandma”.
