According to Yurii Bielousov, head of the War Department of the General’s Office, 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war were reportedly executed by Russian on the Pokrovsk front. This information was reported by UkrInform on 1, 2024.

Social media was flooded with reports of the alleged execution, which was captured on video. The footage showed Ukrainian soldiers, who had been captured by the enemy, being lined up and shot by the occupiers. Some of the soldiers were shot at close range with automatic gunfire, even after showing signs of life.

Bielousov stated that soldiers from two units of the may have been killed, and their unit numbers and identities are currently being verified to avoid any mistakes. Ukrainian investigators have also gathered information on the location of the execution and the potential unit responsible for the crime.

Inquiries have been sent to military units, intelligence services, and to gather more information about this atrocity.
