Archpriest Andria Jagmaidze is the head of the public relation department of the Patriarchate. She says that the Church cannot be responsible for the promotion of a newly launched vaccination program in Georgia as it falls to the health workers.
“Anyone can choose to vaccinate. He stated that the Church could not be held responsible for the promotion and implementation of vaccinations, as this is the responsibility of health professionals.
He said that the Church is guided by the Synod’s decision of February 11, which states that no one, regardless of their social status, public or personal activities, should be subjected harassment, insult or persecution because of vaccination or nonvaccination.
