The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze responded to the EU ambassador’s statement about the elections by saying that a foreign diplomat making a propaganda call is a gross violation.
Kobakhidze believes that the assessment of the ambassador is not objective.
“This assessment is not unbiased and I find it very sad.” It is disturbing when such biased statements are made in relation to elections. This is a gross violation to electoral principles. A foreign diplomat’s propaganda regarding elections is a gross violation to election principles. This is a form of administrative resource use. I urge everyone to not violate election principles, and to speak objectively of the processes that are taking place in our country”, stated Kobakhidze.
In response to a question from journalists about the elections, Pawel Herczynski (Ambassador of the European Union in Georgia) said that, unfortunately, relations between Georgia and Europe are at an all-time low and the European Integration Process of Georgia has been halted.
“Elections are an occasion to celebrate democracy. It is a time when you and your children can decide their future. Please go, vote and elect a government which represents your wishes, aspirations,” said Pawel Hisczynski.
