Elections are celebration for democracy. It is a day that you and your can decide their future. Please go and vote, and choose a who represents your wishes, aspirations. – Pawel Herczynski of the European in Georgia told journalists when asked about the elections.
“In four days, you will be able to choose your new government. Elections are a celebration for democracy, and a day where you can choose the future of yourself and your children. Please go, vote and elect a government which represents your wishes and aspirations,” said the Ambassador.
He also spoke Sunday at the pro-European rally in Tbilisi and said that it was an occasion of pride for him, as the EU ambassador.
“I saw many EU flags in the streets of Tbilisi on Sunday. It was a proud and happy day for the EU ambassador. I saw many people, including many young people. They deserve a brighter future. They deserve to have more opportunities in Georgia. They should be able to live, work and stay in their beautiful Georgia,” said the Ambassador.
According to him the Georgia-EU relationship is at its lowest point in history.
“As you are aware, Georgia-EU , unfortunately, have reached a historic low, and the process of Georgian integration into Europe has been stopped. The EU leaders have stated that the actions of Georgia’s government are to blame. As the ambassador of the it is heartbreaking to see how other countries are moving towards integration with the European Union while Georgia is moving away. What happened in Moldova? Every vote counts. Voting was low, so go out and vote. Vote for your future and the future of your children. The European Union is an enormous success story. It is a project. It is a development guarantee. It is a promise of a decent, not a rich, life. This is not just a luxury car for the rich, but a decent life that everyone can enjoy. But it’s in your hands. The European Union it clear that we decided to open the door to Georgia in December last year. We are waiting for you. But you must go through this gate, no one else can do it for. The Ambassador said, “This is your decision.”
“It’s yours. Georgia, go forward!” the Ambassador said.
