Petraeus warned, after the US announced a $400-million package during Austin’s Kyiv trip, that more support was needed to stop Russian advances.
Newsweek reports that retired US Army General and former CIA director David Petraeus warned that the Administration’s $400 million aid package to Ukraine, while significant in its own right, will not be enough to prevent Russian advances.
Despite Ukraine’s long-running appeals in the face of escalating , nations including the US and continue to restrict their use of long-range weapons such as ATACMS missiles and , reportedly, to avoid further escalation.
The package announced by US Defense Sec. during his Kyiv visit on 21 October includes armored vehicles, anti-tank weapons, and other equipment for forces in the front line.
