The trial relating to the postponement or release of the sentence for Mikheil Sakaashvili is currently underway at the Tbilisi City Court.
Saakashvili is unable to attend the session, either remotely or physically, due to his complex condition.
Today, the foreign experts who took part in the examination of Saakashvili will be questioned.
Shalva Khachapuridze is the lawyer for the third president of Georgia. According to him, their key witness will be the American toxicologist David Smith.
The lawyer claims the medical cards prove Saakashvili was not treated at Vivamedi.
Saakashvili’s lawyers have requested that the court postpone the sentence or release the former president from the sentence. Judge Giorgi Aretevadze will examine the motion.
