The company has received a 5G license after the Communications Commission declared that Magticom had won multiple lots at the second auction.
Magticom received the right to use the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, and 3410-3720 MHZ frequency bands for 15 years. The cost was GEL 77.125.735. Magticom paid only 30% at the beginning, with the aim to settle the remaining 70% within the next year.
The company will gradually expand 5G coverage to the most populated areas in the country as well as tourist attractions.
The 5G technology will increase mobile internet speed, promote innovation and boost the economy of Georgia.
