The Wall Street Journal reported that a strategic partnership agreement between Moscow, Pyongyang and Ukraine contained a secret clause that allowed North Korean troops to be sent to fight Russia’s full scale war with Ukraine.
During the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Pyongyang, in June, the two countries signed a pact on mutual defense. In accordance with the agreement, the North Korean army announced that a unit of engineers would join Russian forces in Donetsk Oblast by the end of the month.
According to reports, the secret clause allowed North Korea to send its first 1,000 soldiers to Ukraine in order to gain military training. The source told the WSJ that more North Korean troops will be deployed.
