Independent MP Kakha Okrishvili released a statement in which she urged Georgians to vote for proEuropean parties at the upcoming elections on October 26. She called for an end to “false dreams” of the ruling coalition and its allies.
Okriashvili stressed that the upcoming elections will determine Georgia‘s direction in the future–whether it will align itself with Europe or move further away from it. He accused the “Georgian Dream”, along with its allies, such as Iago Khvichia‘s “Girchi,” Alt-Info’s “Conservative Movement” and the “Alliance of Patriots,” of stifling Georgia’s European ambitions.
“On October 26 it will be decided whether we are in Europe or not!” “It is obvious to everyone that Dream and its satellites… are opposed to the European future for Georgia,” Okriashvili said.
He urged all voters, including teachers, healthcare workers and police officers, soldiers and private sector employees, to support four major proEuropean political parties. He argued that European integration will lead to higher salaries, pensions and incomes in countries like Estonia which have experienced economic growth since joining EU.
“You want rapid business progress and fastest growth of your earnings, don’t wait, go to the election, choose a pro European political force!” Okriashvili urged.
In his appeal, Okriashvili demanded the removal of “number41,” referring to ruling party from power. He claimed that the party had failed to deliver its promises, and urged citizens to reject the “false dreams” he called.
“Let’s vote on October 26! Let’s get rid ‘number’ 41 from the government and its false promises, and get rid false dream!” He concluded.
