The public funeral for the rescuers, medics and victims of the helicopter crash near Gudauri continues at the Sameba Cathedral (Holy Trinity) in Tbilisi.
The ceremony will continue until 14:00. After that, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the helicopter crash victims would be buried in family cemeteries across Georgia with full military honors.
The funeral was attended by the Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili. Also in attendance were the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and members of the government, MPs and Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze.
A border police helicopter that was on a rescue mission in Gudauri crashed July 29, killing 8 people. Georgia declared July 30 a day of mourning.
