Ukrainian Ombudsman: These actions of Georgian Govt are deemed as torture and a violation of Saakashvili’s right to life

Lyudmila denisova, Ukrainian Ombudsman, responded the fact Sakaashvili was moved from Gori Hospital into Rustavi’s 12th Penitentiary Institution.
“We are outraged at the transfer of Mikheil Sakaashvili from the Gori Military Hospital, the Chairman of the Executive Committee for the for Reforms, under the President Ukraine, to the Rustavi prison facility. The cynicism displayed is astounding. Mikheil was taken away overnight without warning his lawyers. His condition is critical, and he has a serious concern. After three hypertensive he feels very bad. He was unable get out of bed just a few days ago. He was not assigned to a new doctor and the decision about the treatment strategy was approved from doctors with different profiles,” Denisova wrote.
Denisova stated that sending Saakashvili into prison in a state of such difficulty is a serious breach of standards.
“I appeal to Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of to visit Mikheil Sakaashvili at the penitentiary to check on the protection of his freedoms and rights.
“I request that the Ambassador of Ukraine in Georgia provide consular assistance for Mikheil Saakashvili.” I call on foreign countries and international , to condemn the actions taken by , who violated the rights of Mikheil Sakaashvili, a Ukrainian citizen, and demand that authorities restore Mikheil’s rights,” Denisova posted on Facebook.
