Salome Samadashvili‘s baseless statement is defamation, – that is how former ambassador Lasha Zhvania of Georgia in Israel responds to information spread by Salome Samadashvili who is one of the leaders in the “Strong Georgia coalition” and claims they are trying deny the right of 2,000 Georgians to participate in the election in Israel where the only precinct has been opened. Lasha Zhvania, the former ambassador of Georgia to Israel, is leading this special operation to remove more citizens.
Zhvania wrote on social media that he was in Tbilisi. He personally contacted Samadashvili to find out if the information was true and if it had been provided by someone else.
“Since baseless, slanderous and false information about me have been spread by mass media, I feel compelled to publicly declare that “I will disrupt the elections in Israel. Salome Samadashvili’s baseless statement concerning the leadership of the Special Operation against the citizens and democratic future of Georgia was defamation. I am in Tbilisi and I asked her to tell me who told her the lie and what evidence she had. I asked her to refute the false statement she made.
I have always maintained good and friendly relations with the Georgian diaspora in Israel, regardless of what their political views are.
Today I heard some members of the Commission refuse to work for the commission.
I believe it is the responsibility of the state to ensure the electoral process and that it is our civic duty as well as right to participate in elections.
My family members, including my mother who is receiving treatment in Israel, are registered on the consular registry to vote in spite of their health.
As for Mrs. Samadashvili recalling her not so little work experience in high state positions under my various governments, any government and state need highly qualified and conscientious civil servants and diplomats like me. However, today I hold, without exaggeration one of the most honorable and responsible positions and returning to public service in any government is not in my personal plans.
In the future ?!.. There will be many more”, writes Lasha Zhvania in his personal page on the social network.
Salome Samadashvili, at the briefing, said that they had information indicating that in Israel, where only one precinct has been opened, they were trying to deny the right to vote to more than 2,000 Georgian citizens. Samadashvili said that this special operation was led by former ambassador Lasha Zhvania.
