Giorgi Gakharia is the leader of For Georgia. He claims that the European Parliament’s resolution on the murder of Tamaz Ginturi, by the Russian occupation forces, confirms once again who is “the guarantee of longstanding peace” and who is “the enemy” of Georgia.
“Resolution of European parliament again demonstrates the real values of the EU. Who is the friend of Georgia? Who is the defender of our sovereignty and statehood, who is the guarantee of long-lasting peace and who is an enemy?” Tamaz Ginturi, who was defending our freedom and dignity, was brutally murdered on November 8th by occupants. Recent events clearly show that the EU and the Georgian people are both on the right side. He tweeted: “Unfortunately, the Government of Georgia has fallen behind”.
The European Parliament (EP), on Thursday, condemned the murder of Tamaz Ginturi and the illegal kidnapping of Levan Dotiashvili. It also called for an investigation into these and other murders.
“Russian occupation forces killed Tamaz Ginturi, a Georgian citizen, and Levan Dottiashvili was abducted in the occupied Tskhinvali area of Georgia.
“The statement urges the Russian Federation, through the EU, to implement the 2008 Ceasefire Agreement and withdraw all occupation forces in order to release all Georgians who are illegally detained by the occupation regime,” reads a statement.
