According to the Central Election Commission, 776,726 people, or 22.2%, of the total number registered voters, had cast their ballots in the parliamentary election by 12:00, just four hours after polling stations opened.
The turnout rate in 2020 is 2.81 percentage point higher than it was in 2012 at 12:00, when the Georgian Dream came to power.
The final turnout was 56.11% with 1,970 540 eligible voters.
At 3,031 polling places, 3,508 294 Georgians can vote in the crucial parliamentary election today. The polls close at 8 pm and the preliminary official results will be available within the next few hours. The CEC will announce the final results on October 27th, after all ballots are manually re-counted.
