National Statistics Service (GeoStat), a division of the National Statistics Service, reported that the annual inflation rate in 2022 was 9.8%.
The annual core inflation rate was 6.9%. The annual core inflation rate without tobacco was 6.8%.
The prices of transport and maintenance decreased by 2,8%, respectively. Prices for oil and fats fell by 2.0%, while those of fruit and grapes dropped by 1.1%. This contributed 0.09 percentage points to overall monthly inflation.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic drinks increased by 0.4%. Vegetables went up 3.0%. Fish dropped 2.1%. And milk, cheese, and eggs went up 1.2%.
The prices of housing, water, electricity and gas, as well as other fuels, increased by 0.8%. Prices were higher in particular for actual housing rentals (2.1%).
Prices for tobacco and alcoholic drinks increased by 1.2%. This represents a contribution of 0.08 points to the overall inflation. The price of tobacco increased by 2.2%.
