“Legally, the first session must be held within 10 days. The Parliament will hold a session on the 10th day. The president is not allowed to sabotage the process, even if the Constitution of Georgia is violated in a serious way. The president is only formally competent. He can violate the constitution again, but he will not be able to block the first session. The constitution stipulates that the first session must take place within 10 days of the conclusion of elections. If we theoretically allow a gross violation of the constitution, the parliament would meet alone on the 10th day. The Chairman of the Parliament will ensure this, as well as the Bureau of the Parliament”, stated Kobakhidze.
