We will do all we can to ensure Georgian Dream wins the October 26th parliamentary elections, with a constitutional majority – our job is to keep the opponents within the limits of 30 mandates. Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister, said that there was a good chance.
He said that according to Gorbi’s research, Georgian Dream only lacks 6 mandates needed for a majority in the constitution and that “this deficit could be easily eliminated” before the elections.
“The opposition does recognize the Gorbi Study, but they still unite one by one to try to overcome the barrier of 5%. Why are they so united if they think that they will have no problems crossing the barrier? They know the truth. We have our own studies, and the results are similar. Take the Gorbi Study – I recalculated, and we got 107 mandates. The opposition got 43 mandates. This means that we’re currently only six mandates away from the constitutional majority. This shortcoming is easily rectified, I believe. We can get a majority constitutionally. It is important to mobilize as many people as possible and run the right campaign. We will easily be able to obtain 113 mandates for the parliament if we do this. “The Gorbi data tells me this; data supplied by our company tells me this,” Kobakhidze stated.
GORBI published last Thursday the results of an opinion poll conducted by the pro-government Imedi TV, which predicted that Georgian Dream would receive 59.3%.
