ZlatkoVujovic, the head of a mission of “European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations”, said at a recent press conference that the 2024 parliamentary election in Georgia was held in a polarized, restrictive environment which undermined inclusivity, transparency, and justice.
“Critical violations including violence against opposition members, voter intimidation and smear campaign against observers. Also widespread misuse of administrative resource.” The head of the mission noted that “the limited implementation of campaign regulations” limited competition, put pressure on civil society, the media and reduced the space to criticize the government.
ENEMO expressed concerns about the impartiality and independence of the CEC, despite that the election administration had conducted the process in a professional manner.
Zlatko vujovic stated that “the cumulative impact of these issues significantly damaged the democracy integrity of the electoral process”.
