Salome Zurabishvili, the president of Georgia, made her first official statement after the parliamentary elections on October 26. An opposition meeting preceded the announcement.
She claimed that the election was “completely manipulated.”
“I thank the voters who voted in favor of the European future for Georgia. You were all too many. “You won this election and no one can take away our European future,” she said.
“I thank those who fought on the commissions in very unequal conditions for protecting your vote.
“I would like to thank the journalists for their efforts in even more difficult conditions, ensuring that all violations are recorded as accurately as possible. It was impossible to record all the violations because they were so numerous and varied.
“We saw something very unusual. It was a complete fake. Using all the techniques and modern technologies, we were able to steal your votes. It has never happened before. We were both witnesses and victims of an operation by the Russians. A new hybrid war was waged against our people and nation”, said the President.
