Due to the high level of customer interest, “Potato Orbeliani”, plans to expand. This is a fast-food restaurant with an unconventional concept. Customers can expect to see a variety of baked potatoes. Chef Mirian Sulakauri is the Masterchef winner and takes care of the uniqueness of the products. He brought potatoes to a modern level of cooking, and enriched them in Georgian flavors.
Revaz Zhorzholiani from the company spoke to Business Insider Georgia to discuss the dish. It is called “Kupmir” and is popular in Turkey.
“Potato” (also known as kupmir) is a large baked potatoes, weighing between 650 and 700 grams, that is grown in various regions of Georgia. After baking, potatoes are cut into halves and decorated with various dressings. We have Georgianized the Turkish option. I believe that a similar recipe used to be popular years ago but was forgotten. We are the only ones on the market that offer potatoes in this way to customers, and we’ve seen a lot of interest. The addition of different flavors to potatoes has made it a nutritious and wholesome dish. We plan to open a new Tbilisi branch, but we haven’t finalized the details yet.”
Customers can sample potatoes from different regions, including Tbilisian potatoes, Lechkhumian potatoes, Svanetian potatoes, Megrelian potatoes, Imerian potatoes, Turkish potatoes, and Veggie potatos.
The product is priced at 18.80 GE. You can also order a “Georgian Potato Board” for 100 GEL, in addition to the individual potatoes.
