The US Helsinki Commission announced that if the State Department confirms these elections were fraudulent and did NOT reflect the will or the Georgian people they should make it clear.
The Helsinki Commission has responded to the statements made by President Salome Zurabishvili today.
“President Zurabishvili expressed grave concerns regarding the legality and conduct of this weekend’s Georgian elections. There were credible reports of intimidation, harassment, and violation of voter privacy both before and on the day of the election.
If the State Department confirms these elections were fraudulent and did NOT reflect the will the Georgian people they should make this clear in their statement,” the statement read.
Salome Zurabishvili is the President of Georgia. She claims that the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on October 26 were “totally manipulated”. As a result, she does not recognize these elections. According to him, recognizing these elections would be “recognition of Russia‘s entrance”. Presidentet, however, notes that technology was employed in parliamentary election to “whitewash fraud”. Zurabishvili said that “we were both witnesses and victims” of the Russian hybrid war. The President and opposition parties invite the public to Rustaveli Ave on October 28. The President also appeals to her partners in the coalition to stand by Georgians.
