Winners of the “Build with AI Hackathon”: Startups from Central Asia, the Caucasus and South Asia tackle environmental challenges using AI

The Build with AI for Sustainable Growth Project came to thrilling conclusion October 18 with the announcements of the top startups who presented the most innovative AI solutions for addressing sustainability issues in the region.
JolQal.ai won the first place, Airth came in second and FarmForward was third. This shows how AI can be used to solve environmental challenges in , the Caucasus and beyond.
This initiative, spearheaded and supported by Astana Hub, , Azerbaijan and USAID Future Growth Initiative, brought together developers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Over a period of several months, participants developed AI-powered solutions for problems such as air and water pollution and biodiversity loss.
At the final event, held in Astana on November 30, 21 startups presented their innovations before a distinguished jury consisting of government , representatives from IT hubs, and startup enablers. The winning teams showed how AI can drive resilience and sustainable in the region.
Olga Skorokhodova is the Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google for the Caucasus and Central Asia. She highlighted the importance of the initiative. “The Build with AI program aims to empower Central Asia and Central Asia to become AI Sprinters, thriving digital economies powered by AI innovation.” By investing in the economic and social development of the region, we are fostering digital literacy and fostering digital skills.
The event culminated with a tour through the Astana Hub, and a workshop for senior officials to explore how AI can be used to solve regional challenges.
