NATO revealed that North Korea sent military personnel to Russia’s Kursk Oblast as a trade for military technology and assistance in evading sanctions.
European Pravda reports that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that North Korean military personnel now operate in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
This statement comes after earlier Ukrainian intelligence reports stating that approximately 11,000 North Korean soldiers had been trained in Russia and were ready to engage in war against Ukraine between 27-28 Oct. Approximately 3,000 North Korean soldiers have already been relocated to Kursk Oblast.
During an offensive in August, Ukrainian military forces took control of some parts of the Kursk Oblast, increasing the strategic importance of their deployment in this area.
Rutte revealed, at a briefing held on 28 October, that a South Korean delegation had informed NATO, Japan Australia and New Zealand of the North Korean military presence and involvement in war in Russia.
