Traffic will be temporarily restricted due to the celebration of Georgia’s Independence Day.
Tbilisi City Hall has announced that Freedom Square is closed from May 22 at 00:00 until May 27.
The ramp near Baratashvili Bridge will be open for traffic, as well as the Rustaveli Avenue from Gudiashvili Street. The movement from Kote Abkhazi Street and Dadiani street in the direction to Freedom Square will be completely restricted.
Due to an Independence Day event, traffic on Rustaveli Avenue will be allowed to reach Chanturia Street from 07:00 on May 26. Traffic will be restricted in the direction Rustaveli Avenue on Ukrainka and Jorjadze streets, as well as Chichinadze Street, Purtseladze Street, 9 April Street, Gudiashvili street, and Purtseladze.

Georgia celebrates Independence Day every year on the 26th of May. It commemorates 26 May 1918, the date of the adoption of the Act of Independence that established the Democratic Republic of Georgia following the Russian Revolution of 1917. It is the national holiday of Georgia.
Independence Day is marked by military parades and fireworks, concerts and fairs, political speeches and ceremonies and other public and private events that celebrate the history and culture in Georgia.
