The Czech Republic continues to support Georgia in its framework of Development Cooperation. In this context, Mrs. Michaela Marksova Tominova, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Czech Republic and Mr. Jan Sliva Head of the Czech Development Agency, along with their teams, will visit Georgia from April 19-22, 2020. As part of their official visit, the Czech delegation will meet with Georgian counterparts, local partners and the Czech Embassy, as well as the project sites that were implemented in Georgia with Czech support.
The agency delegation will sign Memorandums of Understanding with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia on April 19. The MoUs cover the following two projects implemented in Georgia with Czech financial assistance: Way to home: Development of Adult Alternative Social Services (Total Budget: 780 000 EUR) & Support to Primary Healthcare Strengthening (Total Budget: 1 233 000 EUR).
In the coming days, the Delegation will also attend the Opening Ceremony of Multifunctional Regional Beekeeping Centre and visit the Rukhi Hospital and Batumi Hospital. The newly constructed hospitals in Rukhi, Batumi and other cities were equipped with modern technological appliances as part of the Czech Development Agency’s financial assistance. The delegation will also visit the Zugdidi Screening Center, which was constructed and equipped by Caritas Czech Republic with the financial assistance of the Czech Development Agency. The visit will conclude with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Finance and Economics of Adjara and Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) on Quantification of Environmental and Health Risks and Support for Rehabilitation of the Former Batumi Refinery site.
