Oleh Simiehubov, the governor of Kharkiv, said that Russia attacked a residential area in the city late in the evening of October 30, killing a young child and injuring 29 others.
Syniehubov stated that preliminary data indicated the attack was conducted with a high explosive FAB-500.
A child was killed and 29 people injured.
State Emergency Service reports that the attack destroyed the entrance from the first to fifth floors of a nine-story building. Fires are extinguished from several apartments, and rescuers search for victims trapped under the rubble.
Ihor Terekhov, the mayor, said that several injured people, including an infant, had already been removed from the debris.
Over the last two years, Russia has relentlessly attacked Kharkiv in the northeast. In recent months, Moscow intensified its aerial attacks, often targeting densely-populated neighborhoods.
A Russian bombing on October 28 damaged the Derzhprom Building (the State Industry Building), a historical landmark that has been under enhanced UNESCO Protection since 2022.
