Georgia’s Prosecutor announced on October 30 that it had opened an investigation into allegations of vote-rigging during the recent parliamentary election. Salome Zourabichvili has refused to attend the Prosecutor’s Office after being summoned as part of an investigation.
The Prosecution Service of Georgia, announced on October 30 that it would take all necessary investigative steps and procedural steps in order to examine the issues raised by the Central Election Commission and the President, as well as various political parties and election observation groups.
In response to these allegations, the Election Commission announced that it would recount the votes at several randomly chosen polling stations.
During a Tbilisi press conference, President Zourabichvili showed footage that purportedly showed ballot violations. She said that it was not the responsibility of the President to provide evidence which already exists in society. Non-governmental organizations, citizens, and observers have consistently provided substantial proof, revealing extensive, systematic election rigging.
The investigation was launched after the opposition branded the parliamentary election as illegitimate. The ruling Georgian Dream Party claimed victory with 54%, despite protests by the pro-Western opponents, who described the election as “a constitutional coup.”
President Zourabichvili noted that the summons to her prosecutor’s offices coincided suspiciously with recent remarks made by Dmitry Medvedev. Former President of Russia, and current Deputy Chair of Russia’s Security Council, Medvedev is a former Russian President. Medvedev called for Zourabichvili to be “removed from office and arrested” in the past.
The European Union expressed concern about “irregularities”, which were observed during the voting process, and suspended Georgia’s EU membership process on October 30. U.S. president Joe Biden expressed his “deep alarm” at the democratic backsliding that has occurred in Georgia.

Authorities said that the attack destroyed the entrance from the first to fifth floors of a nine-story building. At least two people, including a young child, were killed and 34 others were injured.

Serhii dobriak, the head of the Pokrovsk Military Administration, said: “Fortifications will be built in Pokrovsk and we have already entered the city. Certain areas of the town will be blocked so please leave those areas and don’t enter or leave the city.”
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated on October 30 that “the evidence now suggests that North Korea sent about 10,000 soldiers for training in eastern Russia.” “Some of these DPRK soldiers have already moved closer towards Ukraine, and we see them outfitted in Russian uniforms and equipped with Russian equipment.”
According to U.K. finance minister Rachel Reeves, London will provide guaranteed support for Ukraine in the amount of PS3 billion ($3.8billion) per year.
The European Commission cited recent legislative amendments affecting the election process. It also cited frequent compromises made on the secrecy of votes, procedural inconsistencies and intimidation. These have all negatively affected public trust in the electoral process.
Brussels expects Ukraine’s broadcasters to return their work to the format of the pre-war period, and questions the telethon’s objectivity.
The White House announced on October 17 that the next Ramstein format meeting would be held virtually in November, prior to Volodymyr Zelensky’s announcement.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, the recent restrictions are applied to companies that are involved in networks of sanctions evasion in 17 jurisdictions including China, India Malaysia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand and Turkey.
Serhii derkach, Deputy Communities and Territories Minister, presented a step-bystep plan for the partial reopening Ukraine’s airspace during a conference held in Warsaw.
