Russian forces continue to bombard Toretsk, despite the fact that their advances are stalled.
Anastasia Bobovnikova is the spokesperson for the “Luhansk“, operative-tactical groups, according to UkrInform.
Toretsk is a settlement of strategic importance. It has been a Ukrainian stronghold ever since Russia’s 2014 invasion. Controlling the city would allow Russian forces to advance further in Donetsk oblast, which is a key goal in their military campaign.
“The number enemy shelling incidents does not decrease despite fewer attacks.” The official said that the enemy uses both artillery and aviation.
Bobovnikova stated that the frontline has not moved for a very long time and the Russians are not making any progress in Toretsk. In urban combat, Ukrainian Defense Forces infantry is actively involved, and the Toretsk situation remains stable.
“Russian troops know for a very long time that the Russian leadership does not care about their soldiers or equipment. They don’t care, which is why the may resort to aviation. “Toretsk and Chasiv Yar are both hit daily,” said the spokesperson.
Bobovnikova said that the Russian military is currently located on the eastern fringes of Toretsk.
