Ukrainian paratroopers destroyed two Ka-52 combat helicopters and 97 reconnaissance drones.
According to the Airborne Assault Forces Command’s press service, Ukrainian airborne troops have reported neutralizing 149 targets during the ongoing Kursk Operation.
On 6 August, Ukrainian forces began their offensive in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. They reportedly wanted to destabilize Russian defences by forcing them away from critical fronts within Ukraine. Ukraine is said to have seized 1,300 square kilometers (500 sq miles).
Three of the 149 Russian targets destroyed by Ukrainian forces were helicopters. These included two combat Ka 52 helicopters and a transport-combat Mi-8 helicopter.
The remaining 146 targets included unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which were classified into reconnaissance and attack categories.
Ukraine also eliminated 97 surveillance drones, including Orlan-10, Zala and Cupercam models. A further 48 attack drones were also destroyed, including the “Heran” and Shahed models.
The Ukrainian troops also intercepted one Russian reconnaissance-strike “Orion” drone.
