As a preventive measure, Rovshan Iskandarov (deputy chairman of the city’s council) and Ekbar Iskandarov (ekbariskandarov.com) were jailed for stuffing votes into the ballot box at the 69th Precinct in Marneuli.
The prosecution presented the relevant petition at the trial which was approved Gvantsa Chikovani.
According to the lawyer for the defendants, it may not be forgery but procedural violations.
“The accused’s position is that we don’t have to deal with forgery but rather with violations of procedure, not forgery.” The lawyer stated that no fake ballots were presented in the case to prove that the defendants placed these ballots into the ballot box.
According to the prosecutor the evidence in the case including the video recordings confirms that both defendants placed ballots in a ballot box.
The pre-trial hearing of the criminal case mentioned above was scheduled for December 25, 2014, at 14.00, in Bolnisi Court.
Information: The Deputy Chairman of City Council, Rovshan Iskandarov (who was arrested for stuffing votes into the ballot box) and Ekbar Iskandarov (who were arrested for stuffing the ballots into the voting box), were charged yesterday with Article 1643 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
