A police officer inhaled smoke while helping residents escape from a 16-story burning building in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynsky District.
Russian military drones attacked six residential districts of Kyiv. Debris caused fires and damaged some civilian cars and buildings.
These drone attacks have as their primary goal to instill fear and lower morale among civilians, so that they will not resist Russian aggression. International law classifies the deliberate targeting of civilians as a war crimes. Despite many allegations made by Ukrainian officials and international organisations regarding these attacks, Russia consistently denies targeting civilians deliberately.
The attack was on the Solomyansky district, Sviatoshynsky district, Dniprovsky district, Shevchenkivskyi and Holosiivskyi districts, as well as Pecherskyi. According to the Kyiv Military Administration, Sviatoshynsky suffered the most damage, where debris ignited an apartment fire on the 16th floor.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated that the fire spread to 50 square metres and affected apartments located on the 15th & 16th floors.
Overnight, Russian drones have attacked residential areas in three Kyiv districts.

Emergency responders evacuated 18 people from the affected building. Kyiv Mayor Klitschko confirmed two casualties from the Sviatoshynsky fire, “one person was hospitalized and another was treated on the scene.” According to city officials, a police officer who assisted residents suffered smoke inhalation.
The attack in Solomyansky resulted in the destruction of five parked cars and broken windows in residential buildings.
Dniprovsky reported a smaller incident. A 2-square-meter balcony was on fire in a nine story building.
The State Emergency Service has extinguished all fires in the area so far.
