Time magazine names Ukraine’s online marriage service as one of the best inventions for 2024

On October 30, Time magazine’s website reported that the online marriage service of the Ukrainian Diia App was one of the most innovative inventions for 2024.
Time editors have been highlighting the most influential products and ideas for more than 20 years in their Best Inventions magazine.
launched the Diia app in 2020. It was used by over 20 million as of early August.
Ukrainians can choose date and place to get married, propose and apply online. The couple may be hundreds of kilometers away or in the same location.
Ukraine was the first country in the world to fully digitalize this practice. Nearly a million people have defended the country since the start of the war. The app allows soldiers to get married on the front lines.
According to the Digital Transformation Ministry on Sept. 20, 25,1 couples were married in Diia and 3,200 couples had applied online for marriage. Nearly 830,000 marriage proposals were recorded with 106,000 “yes” responses.
The app also allows users to access their official documents such as their passports, drivers’ licenses or vehicle registrations. Users can also register a business and pay taxes in a few simple clicks.
