The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that in order to ensure the validity of the elections, and to avoid a crisis, it is important to investigate the facts established by the international observers. We urge the Georgian government to not follow the Belarusian path.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, it is noted that “it is not surprising” that the results of October 26’s elections were well-received in Russia because such methods of influence on the results of a manifestation of will are characteristic of Russia’s regime.
“Ukraine closely followed the progress of the parliamentary election held in Georgia on October 26 2024. We support the findings of the OSCE/ODIHR International Mission to observe the parliamentary election in Georgia which found many violations.
Bribery and intimidation, coercion, pressure, and coercion on voters, lack transparency in voting, and restriction of access to opposition parties by mass media are just a few of the violations that were remembered from these elections. It is not surprising that these elections were well-received in Russia because such methods to influence the results of a manifestation of will are characteristic for the Russian regime. Gleichzeitig, they are incompatible to the path towards the European Union and NATO announced the Georgian authorities. To ensure the legitimacy and avoid a political crises, it is important to investigate the facts established by the international observers. In the statement, it is stated that “We call on the Georgian Government not to follow Belarus’ path”.
