Russia launches a drone attack on Kyiv in the second consecutive night

City officials reported that on Nov. 3, Russia launched its latest drone strike overnight on Ukraine. The attack lasted more than five hours and targeted the capital. Kyiv was rocked by several waves of explosions throughout the night.
Debris from intercepted UAVs hit multiple city districts. Drone debris caused multiple fires in the Holosiivskyi district and Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. According to the Kyiv City military administration, the fires were quickly contained. The authorities reported no injuries or significant damage.
According to Serhii Pokko, the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, all drones that targeted Kyiv were shot down by the air defense.
The debris damaged the road surfaces, a light pole, and the electrical utility wires of Shevchenkivskyi. The blast wave damaged windows on the first two floors of adjacent university and dormitory, as well as several windows in a nearby office.
The Nov. 3, 2014 attack was part of a series of drone attacks by forces against Ukraine’s capital. These strikes target both civilian and military infrastructure.
The night before, a Russian drone strike on Kyiv had caused fires in a 16-story building and an office, leaving a 82-year old woman with shrapnel wounds to her head. The air raid warning in Ukraine’s capital lasted more than five hours. Explosions were reported in Kyiv as well as the surrounding areas.

Australian Defense Magazine reported Nov. 1 that Australia has provided glide bomb kits to Ukraine following the withdrawal of the Royal Australian Air Force from service.
Kyiv City military administration said that all drones that were threatening the city had been neutralized, without specifying how many drones were shot down.

The Air Force reported that Ukrainian forces shot down 39 of the 71 drones of the type Shahed and other unidentified drones that Russia launched overnight. The Air Force added that 21 drones were “lost” and five more flew towards Russia.
“Active hostilities which continue in certain regions require constant renewal of resources of Ukrainian units,” Commander in Chief Oleksandr Sryskyi said.
According to Ukraine’s intelligence services, North Korean soldiers were equipped with 60-mm mortars and AK-12 rifles. They also received machine guns, sniper weapons, Feniks guided anti-tank missiles, as well as hand-held antitank grenade launches.
