Nona Qurdovanidze is the head of GYLA and she says that the Tbilisi City Court has not satisfied the Association of Young Lawyers‘ claim regarding the secrecy of voting in the October 26th parliamentary elections.
According to her information other courts in the country have not ruled on lawsuits with similar content.
The trial of GYLA’s right to privacy case in the city courts was recently concluded. The case was heard in a newly appointed probationary judge. He had the chance to restore trust and the right to privacy in the court. The judges who heard similar cases yesterday and today did not satisfy us. We are still awaiting the decisions of various courts.
The court’s lack interest in fully investigating this case was evident right from the start when the judge refused to look at our two important requests: to examine the sealed ballots in the random selection precincts. CEC was also involved in the case in the capacity of a third party.
Qurdovanidze posted on “Facebook” that the Tetritskaro Court is currently a relatively interesting place. Tomorrow, the prosecutor will check the ballots and the marker.
