“We have the lowest rate of vaccination among students.” Georgia has 138,000 students, and the average rate of double-vaccination is 17%. This is a low rate. I urge the students to be active and set an excellent example if we are to achieve a high rate of attendance in the classroom.
He also noted that approximately 9.5% of students already had coronavirus. Gamkrelidze said that less than half of students in public and private schools had received a second vaccination. He said that 80% is the ideal rate of vaccinated students in schools.
“If we want our kids to go to school, then parents should take the step and get vaccinated. Every member of the family must also be vaccinated. Gamkrelidze stated that the restoration of education and studying in classrooms should be considered.
He said that although the epidemiological situation is improving in the country, people should not relax, as vaccinations and following the recommendations are crucial.
