The GD Chair has ruled out any consultations on Saakashvili

is the chair of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD). He stated that the government had ruled out engaging with Ukraine in consultations over the case of former President Mikheil Sakashvili.
As pointed out, the Georgian ambassador in Ukraine, Giorgi Zakarashvili, was in Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict, unlike the other ambassadors of Ukraine’s strategic partners.
“Despite the fact tanks were stationed at Kyiv, the ambassador of the United States stayed there every day and took care of lot of things. His contribution in terms humanitarian and political support has been crucial. In light of this, the Ukrainian government’s decision is offensive and disappointing. We will not comment on the matter. “We intend to maintain our friendship with the Ukrainian authorities, which is one-sided,” he said.
On July 4, Ukraine’s Ministry said that the Georgian government must stop abuse of the Ukrainian citizen , and asked the Georgian ambassador to return to Tbilisi in order to resolve the issue.
The Ministry stated that “in this regard, it was suggested that in Ukraine, Giorgi Zakarashvili, return to Tbilisi to consult to find ways to resolve the situation.”
