Prosecutor’s Office summons My Vote’s to Loraia over Vote Fraud Probe

Londa Toloraia is the representative and spokesperson of the My Vote mission. She said that on November 4, she was summoned by prosecutors in connection with an investigation into alleged fraud.
Toloraia stated that she would only be questioned in court, and refused to visit the Prosecutor’s Office which she claimed was “totally non-active” and had “failed to fulfill its preventive and investigative role or supervisory function during the period”.
“If the information that I provided is important to this agency (…), I will go to court where at least another person will hear about how inactive the Prosecutor’s Office was throughout the entire period,” Toloraia wrote in Facebook posting
Toloraia said that My Vote, from the pre-election phase to the present day, has repeatedly requested the Prosecutor’s Office and investigating bodies to respond to a number of allegations. These include cases of pressure on the through the confiscation and use of identity cards, illegal data collection and usage, violations of voter confidentiality, and cases involving . My Vote also called for an investigation of “ crimes” perpetrated by representatives of Central Election (CEC).
Toloraia, however, said that before the CEC requested that the Prosecutor’s Office open an investigation, there had been no formal proceedings or announcements regarding the many violations that occurred during Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary election.
Toloraia stated, “If the prosecutor’s office and investigating agencies had acted in the pre-election phase, we would not be facing this situation.”
Toloraia had earlier accused CEC on the same day of being involved in fraud schemes.
On October 30, the Prosecutor’s Office opened a probe into an alleged electoral fraud at the Central Election Commission’s request and summoned to be questioned. President Zurabishvili said she would not comply with the summon.
