The procession of the three political parties began from the station square and headed towards Rustaveli Avenue.
The leaders of “Strong Georgia”, the party’s central office, will march from Marjanishvili Square to the Parliament Building.
The protest will continue, as Nika Melia, leader of the “Coalition for Change”, said during the march.
“A permanent, continuous protest has begun. This will continue until there are new elections in the country. It is impossible that the process could develop in a different way. Yes, the powerful movement of protest will continue until justice has been restored and until the Georgians believe that their choices are protected. No one will forgive anyone who stole the elections or stole the future of Europe. The suppression of national spirit is not an option.
The majority of the population showed their trust in the Georgian opposition forces and voted to improve the future. We are united with the Georgians around this important goal. Tbilisi has a decisive role to play in this process. Melia said that “new elections will be held for an independent Georgia”.
The participants of the march received flags of the European Union as well as Georgia. They have unfurled an inscription banner “Wake Up Georgia”.
Three political unions, “Unity-National Movement”, the “Coalition for Change”, and “Strong Georgia”, will be joining the gathering on Rustaveli Avenue.
Today’s rally will reveal the opposition’s action plan and protest forms.
