US State Department Inspector General arrives in Kyiv for US aid to Ukraine

According to Bridget Brink of the Embassy in Ukraine, who shared this news on social media, Cardell Richardson arrived in Kyiv on Monday, 4th November. Richardson is in charge of overseeing the and accountability for US aid to Ukraine.
In September of last year, the Pentagon sent inspectors to Kyiv, Ukraine to monitor US . A similar inspection mission was conducted by the United States in Ukraine earlier this summer. The visits are another step to ensure public support for Ukraine’s defense, as it moves towards EU and NATO membership.
Brink wrote: “Glad to welcome Inspector Richardson of the US Department to Ukraine.”
RBC reported that the US Agency for International Development had earlier stated that the US had not identified any serious violations in relation to the aid provided to Ukraine.
In November , the Ukrainian also reported that the European Facility had conducted an inventory of the weapons provided to Ukraine’s Defense Forces from EU countries.
In March 2024 the US Government Accountability Office made recommendations to the Department of Defense regarding the proper tracking and use of US-made defense equipment provided to Ukraine under the Defense Aid program.
