The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia has announced that the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Latvia (Baiba Braze), Estonia (Margus Tsahkna), Iceland (Tordis KolbrunR. Gylfadottir) and Lithuania will be visiting Georgia for a working trip.
The foreign ministers from the Baltic states and Iceland are planning to hold a joint meeting with the President of Georgia (Salome Zurabishvili), the Speaker of Parliament of Georgia (Shalva Papuashvili), the Minister of External Affairs of Georgia (Ilia Darchiashvili), and representatives of parliamentary opposition parties. There are also meetings with civil society groups and members of the Georgian Government.
Tomorrow morning, the Foreign Ministers will be joined by the President of Georgia for a press conference.
“In the context of the visit, the current events in Georgia, including the draft “On transparency of external influence” presented by Georgia’s Parliament, will be discussed. Officials will also exchange views on Georgia’s reform process in relation to the progress of its integration with the European Union. This stems from Georgia’s obligations as a country candidate for the European Union as well as strengthening stability against the Russian threat,” the information states.
