International Girls’ Day is celebrated on October 11th. The United Nations is responsible for the decision to celebrate International Girls’ Day.
In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution establishing the first International Day of Girls on October 11, 2012.
The day will focus on social issues such as gender issues, access, education, health care and protection of social rights.
Every year, the International Day of the Girl Child has a specific theme. The theme of the 2021 International Day of the Girl Child is “Digital Generation.”
