Regional authorities reported that Russian attacks on Ukraine killed 13 people and injured 89 others over the past day.
Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia and killed nine people, including an infant of one year, and injured 42 others.
Five guided aerial bombs were used by Russia to strike the city. According to a statement, the attack damaged houses, an apartment building and a cancer hospital.
In the Kramatorsk district, Donetsk Oblast Russian forces killed and injured two people. Governor Vadym Fillashkin reported that the attacks damaged five highrise buildings, nine homes, and two administrative building.
The Russian military launched an attack by drones on the southern Odesa Oblast. One person was killed and eight others were injured. Oleh Kiper, the governor of Odesa Oblast, said that a 91-year-old woman also suffered a severe reaction to stress.
The attack caused damage to multiple residential buildings. The blast wave caused the windows to shatter in an Odesa school, while shrapnel damages led to the depressurization of two gas pipelines in another district.
In Kherson Oblast Russia attacked 16 settlements including the regional centre of Kherson. According to the local military administration, one person was killed and three others were injured in the attacks.
In the early morning hours of November 8, Russia attacked Kharkiv, hitting a residential house and injuring at least 25 people. Kharkiv mayor Ihor Terekhov confirmed that a KAB-guided aerial bomb struck a 12-story apartment block in the city’s Saltivskyi District, causing fire and destroying several floors.
In Kharkiv Oblast a 19-year old man was injured in the village Kozacha Lopan. According to Oleh Syniehubov, Russian forces damaged a residence as a result from shelling by multiple rocket launchers.
Overnight, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with drones and missiles.
Four men in Kyiv Oblast suffered injuries of various severity as a result of falling debris. Regional police reported that all four men were hospitalized.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that a missile was launched at dawn, around 5:30 am local time. Ukrainian forces did specify which type. Since early October 2024, no Russian missiles have been shot down near or above Kyiv.
As of the morning on Nov. 8, Kyiv’s local authorities had not reported any casualties or damage, and the air defense system was not operating.
