The current Georgian government will never be able to find a place in the civilized world, because it is part of Russia. Just as Putin and his successors will not, either, including Georgia. Zelenskyy and Kobakhidze will never share a language. Kobakhidze’s party built their pre-election campaign around the trauma and tragedy in Ukraine, and displayed it prominently on banners. This is the group that no longer shakes hands. It is impossible for European Georgia for a government to exist where nobody greets it, Nika Gvaramia said, while assessing meetings held by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Budapest.
Gvaramia pointed out that Kobakhidze was not seated next to the French or German leaders. Yesterday, he was “assigned to” the European oligarch, Fico, who was ostracized and vilified by everyone.
“The conversation with Charles Michel lasted only a few moments – when the Government talks about the actions by the opposition, that already means their immaturity. But we saw yesterday that the man who had been transferred, our Prime Minister, sat among the highest officials in France and Germany. Gvaramia said that the current government of Georgia would never be able to find a place in the civilized world because it is a part of Russia.
He also spoke with journalists about the details surrounding the meeting between the opposition leaders and the EU ambassador.
“The meeting was very significant for me and my colleagues Tina Bokuchava, and Badri Japardze. The ambassador is well informed. We still provided information but it was not just about violations. It is well known that everyone, including the EU knows what is happening and how. The European Union is entitled to examine this recommendation and see if it was met in these elections. It is obvious that not done, but research, and specific documentation, would be helpful to reveal the complete picture. We also told them that we had plans to make it impossible for anyone to enter the Parliament, and that the parliament would not be legitimate in this regard. There will be protests much larger, and more result-oriented. What is happening now is only the beginning. We told the ambassador that we did not want our position, or the position taken by the Georgians, to be used to gain access to the government, achieve stability, etc. Stability is a European thing, and this government is Russian. We will not stop until we get our demands met. Our demand is simple – new elections, and a peaceful transition of power.
We were told that the possibility of an international investigation is real, depending on how we communicate. As you may know, the ambassador acts as a conduit for information between the center of the country and the place he is located. We intend to use this information as evidence and to justify why new elections are needed and that a new Parliament is the only solution.
Consultations will continue with diplomats, not only in Georgia but also in Brussels, Washington and elsewhere.
This issue cannot and will not be decisive. Gvaramia said that they will have to accept the will of Georgians.
