The elections are now over. The CEC will summarize the results of the election in the near future. The first meeting of Parliament will take place very soon after, Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister, told journalists.
According to Prime Minister, Georgia held the highest-quality elections.
“The first Parliament meeting will take place by the end the month.” The government will then be formed within a few days. This is the agenda by which our country will naturally live. The opposition is trying to create an agenda that is parallel, but will not succeed. They had a successful attempt 4 years ago to divert the development of our nation and related processes onto another agenda. Do you remember that the country left the constitutional framework? Do you recall the sabotage in the parliament or the famous April 19, agreement? There is no such resource today. The process will continue as normal, the first session will take place as usual and the government will receive a vote. Kobakhidze said that this is the agenda on which the process will be developed.
According to the Prime minister, the opposition claimed that they were winning the elections to their supporters, but now they are justifying themselves.
“The opposition has proven to its supporters that it won the elections, and now they have to justify their actions. This is a form self-righteousness. Self-righteousness is when you talk about non-existent fraud. You know that we are more than 890,000 votes ahead of the second-place party. Talking about fraud at this time is laughable. Initially, they talked about 300,000 votes that were manipulated, but there was no basis to this. They then reduced the number to 200,000 after realizing that they were talking excessively.
He also noted that the quality and quantity of the elections in Georgia were much higher than those in the USA or Moldova.
“In reality, the highest-quality elections were held.” Take the same Moldovan and US elections. Qualitatively the Georgian elections were far superior to the elections in both nations. Since 2012, we’ve been holding democratic elections here. “This is the practice about which we are especially careful,” said Kobakhidze.
According to the Prime Minister the opposition will also enter the Parliament.
“I believe that the opposition will be able to enter the Parliament. It’s up to them if they want to enter the parliament or not. Prime Minister’s media statement.
Kobakhidze said that the opposition has no resources to benefit the parliamentary life.
“Of course, they will be destructive right from the start. Irakli Kobakhidze said that neither their entry nor non-entry is of any value. If they do not enter, there will be a greater peace in the political life. We will protect the peace regardless.
