We need a solid piece of paper to convince the people – will we go in or not? We believe that when the day arrives, we will stand together with the Georgians and declare that no one can enter the parliament where we have no role. This is important for the near future – Nika Melia, one of the leaders in the “Coalition for Change”, said during a rally on Heroes’ Square.
According to him the developed world, as well as the majority of the population in the country, does not recognize the results.
He also spoke of the need for an international investigation into the election results.
“As time passes, the government will try to legitimize a parliament that is doomed by itself. Their efforts will be futile. It is our task to delegitimize the parliament by demonstrating a clear, unwavering, and firm position in the streets of Tbilisi. This is the best and most correct solution. Melia said that the fight would be to the end and to victory. This will lead to new, fair, and free elections.
According to him, he believes that the international community does no recognize the results of the elections.
“However, there is no less importance that this Parliament cannot become the Parliament of Georgia, and where, even with rigged election, the oppositionists who won a mandat do not enter and cannot. This is more than important. No one should be allowed to enter this parliament if they do not represent the interests of the people. There are many issues that are discussed, but the Georgians like to be specific. This is especially true since we, as the opposition, cannot avoid presenting ourselves in our best light in front of the people due to our various actions. They need a solid, concrete document to decide whether we will enter or not. When the day arrives, I think we will stand together with the Georgians and declare that no one is going to enter. In this parliament, where we have no business. Melia said, “This is important to us in the near future, we must do it”.
