Salome Zurabishvili, the President of Georgia said that the country would get out of the crisis in a fair manner. We will hold new elections to give Georgia a legitimate Parliament.
She believes that the Georgian society is truly European even though the government is not democracy.
“This is a nation where the society is truly European and democratic, but unfortunately, it does not have a democracy government. It has a one party government that has taken over the institutions in this country. And we got results from these elections.” This was a one-party-managed election, with some help from others, but it was a single party-managed and one-party-rigged election. We are now in a crisis because of this.
It is obvious from the statements made by the head of Central Election Commission what decision he intends to make. There are no surprises. Our friends are here with us to help us find ways to get Georgia out of the crisis. We will only get out of the crisis when we have new elections in Georgia, so that we can get a legit government and a legit parliament. This is our way. Our path is the road of stability, democracy, and Europe. “There is no other path for Georgia, and our friends here are deeply convinced that this is the only way,” Zurabishvili said.
